About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I had to visit Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske, for a hysteroscopy and removal of a uterine polyp.

Not the most pleasant procedure to have to have, but the whole team - from the receptionist on arrival, Chris the HCA, Sarah the ANP and her team - were fantastic in helping me to feel at ease and completed the procedure as quickly and painlessly as possible.

The clinic was very well set up with good processes in place to make sure I had adequate pain relief and did not feel any more exposed than necessary.

I was provided with detailed written information before and after the appointment and the opportunity to ask questions before, during and after the procedure, so I felt safe and fully informed throughout.

Thank you for such excellent care. You are all a credit to the Trust.

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback about your hysteroscopy and removal of a uterine polyp. It is always good to hear that our team are able to ensure that their patients feel at ease and are well informed about what is about to happen and what to do following the procedure. It is also very reassuring to read that you felt confident that the clinic has good processes in place to help with pain relief and to maintain patient’s dignity at all times.

Our team works hard to try and minimise any worry or anxiety for their patients, and to make them feel as comfortable and informed as possible during such an invasive procedure, and they very much appreciate all feedback. I will ensure that your kind words are shared with them.
