"All of the staff were lovely"

About: Glasgow Dental Hospital and School / Dental NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as the patient),

Developed and abscess through the day, called NHS 24 and was sent to the dental hospital all within half an hour. Had my appointment with the dentist, Andrew, who sorted the infection and gave me a prescription. From initial call to appointment to being seen was less than 90 minutes. 

All of the staff were lovely and helpful from the call handler to the dental nursing staff and the dentist.

Thanks for sharing your story on Care Opinion. I'm so sorry to learn you had a dental abscess. I know an abscess can be hugely painful and can leave you feeling extremely miserable.

Great service though from ourselves here at NHS 24 and also Glasgow Dental Hospital! Well done to all involved by ensuring you received care quickly. Less than 90 minutes from initial call to being seen is indeed impressive.

Thank you for your kind comments about the dental care you have received it certainly creates a picture of timely care.

It is a pleasure to hear such kind comments and they will certainly be relayed to the team members who supported you.

We work in partnership with NHS 24 who carry out the triaging and appointing process for our out of hours service and I can see above that they are equally delighted with your comments.

Dental pain is difficult to cope with at any time but after normal working hours it can present with an additional level of anxiety. The out of hours team provide professional dental care on a 7 day per week basis and are happy to support patients who attend the clinic.

I hope that your dental pain is now resolved and that you are feeling better.
