"The staff were very kind and helpful"

About: Cloughreagh House

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I came to Cloughreagh for 2 weeks' respite. I've never been in for respite before and I didn't know what to expect.  I found Cloughreagh very good. The staff were very kind and helpful.  The bedroom was very nice and adequate for my needs.

I liked the freedom of choice to do as I wanted during the day.  I had the television in my room if I wanted it and I also had plenty of time to read my books.

I found the food not to my taste as I don't ever eat potatoes but I got enough to do me.

If I had to go into respite again I would be happy to return to Cloughreagh.

In Cloughreagh we aim to promote service users choice and it is obvious from your story that you feel we have achieved this.

I apologise that the food was not to your taste and going forward I will speak to the catering staff about meeting individual tastes.

On behalf of the team I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for giving your feedback. I will share your thoughts with the team. I am delighted that you would be happy to return to Cloughreagh if you wish to avail of respite in the future and we would be very happy to welcome you back.

Following on from your feedback the catering staff have reviewed the menu to include more variations to potato. In addition alternatives to potato are always available and can be requested at any time.

Good nutrition is an important part of the recovery process and we strive to provide a good balanced menu to suit all our Service Users.

Thank you again for you feedback.
