"Friendly and efficient service"

About: Dorset County Hospital

I was told to attend the ED today by 111 because of an eye injury I experienced earlier. I was very impressed that I was triaged within 10 minutes of arriving and given a clear plan of next steps shortly after. A few tests later and I was reassured that no lasting damage had been done and I was booked in for an appointment the next morning (just 10 hours after my initial ED attendance) just to make sure that the injury was improving. I was able to go home within an hour of my attendance reassured I wasn't going to have long term damage to my vision, what else can you ask for? Everyone was really friendly from the receptionist to the triage nurse and healthcare assistants. I have thankfully only had a handful of dealings with DCH A&E, but this experience is typical of this great department and hospital. Thank you.

Hello

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback about your Emergency Department attendance. Please accept our apologies that we have been unable to respond until now.

This is an example of the high standards of care we hope to achieve for all our patients and it is great to see we are getting it right.

I will make sure the staff from the Emergency Department are made aware of your lovely comments.

Best wishes

Julia Woodhouse
