"Lovely maternity team"

I wanted to share feedback on my experience with the COMC team. 

I was contacted by Gillian when I was around 18 weeks pregnant and told about the trial and that I had been selected. From my first time meeting Gillian, she was so warm and informative that it really reassured me. She made the effort to meet me either before my appointments, attend them or catch up with me afterwards. Gillian has the kind of personality that she can have a laugh and then also give you the blunt truth you need to hear. 

I asked Gillian about vaginal seeding which was something I was quite passionate about. Gillian contacted people within the trust and did research to ensure I had the opportunity to do this after my section. 

I met the wider team at a coffee morning and they were absolutely lovely. I attended the assessment unit twice during my pregnancy and was spotted by Maria at one who addresses me by name and another of the team at the other one. Sarah, Briege and Becks have been so helpful anytime I came across them. 

Gillian stayed late the day I had my section so she could meet my child and be there for me. I can’t emphasise enough how reassuring it was to have a familiar face in the theatre that day to put me at ease. It was even nicer to have her come to my home in the days afterwards to check me out when my body felt like an alien to me.

If I ever get pregnant again, I’d love to opt into this team again.
