" Visitor’s negative experience "

About: Colman Hospital

I brought my sister-in-law to visit her daughter in Caroline House today. She uses a stick. It was her first visit and she was really disappointed and upset at her experience. I would especially like to raise that there was no chair, or even a stool, to sit on in her daughter’s room. She remained standing the entire time she was there. She is in her eighties, deeply unhappy at her daughter’s situation and recovering from hip replacement surgery. This is poor practice in any hospital setting but when visiting your beloved daughter who is deeply impaired following a catastrophic stroke it is appalling. No visitor should have to stand when visiting. She surmised that you don’t really want to encourage visitors but surely to have them onside can help both you and all the therapists and the patient. I would be interested to hear your response.
