I came in Monday morning for an elective caesarean. I was taken down to theatre, my son was born, and the caesarean went very well. It was scary and slightly daunting. I had the fear of the unknown as my other child was a natural birth. But it actually went very well. The midwife was lovely, as were the theatre team who looked after me.
The tea and toast after was amazing, as I was starving from having to fast for the caesarean, so I was ravenous.
The ward has been very good and I have been so well looked after and even the little things like them taking my son to feed during the night to let me rest has been a blessing.
They are fantastic, however I felt a bit forgotten about yesterday because the ward was so manic and busy. I had asked multiple times for pain relief and I was told someone would be with me shortly every time. Now I know this was not intentional as the staff are amazing, it was purely down to them being absolutely rushed off their feet. Today is a lot more relaxed and calmer. I know they are overworked and under a lot of pressure.
But despite this I am so happy with the experience and very thankful for all the staff have done for me.
