"We knew he would be in the best hands"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency Control

(as a carer),

Made  a 999 call  last night for my elderly uncle who is in the palliative care stage for lung cancer and was having acute breathing difficulties, the lady on the phone was just brilliant so reassuring and lovely, gentle and understanding, the ambulance crew, jarlath (paramedic) and Hannah (emergency care technician) were just brilliant when they arrived. They apologised for the delay although there was no need I understand the pressures they are under constantly, they were so lovely, they reassured us that he would be well taken care of, carried out all their assessments in a kind non invasive manner, they both had  a lovely way with him. We knew he would be in the best hands...even had time for a few well placed jokes that reassured my uncle and made him feel at ease. Couldn't pay these people enough for the stress they deal with constantly. They were unable to off load in daisy hill for about 6 hours, they got tea and biscuits for him and looked after him above and beyond their roles. They are real hero's...thank you..
