"I am sick of the food at this stage"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Trauma Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have been in trauma a total of 10 weeks. The nurses are really good. Communication has been fine. The facilities are grand, however, there is no remote and everyone is having to share the same one. If I could change anything about my stay it would be the menus, I am sick of the food at this stage and think there could be a bit more variety. The clock in my room is broke and is still stuck in the month of June.

Hello,

My name is Rachel and I am the Ward Sister on the Trauma Ward. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am very pleased to know the nurses and communication have been good. We understand how important it is to keep patient and their loved ones well informed.

I acknowledge the lack of TV remotes is frustrating as they do go missing often. Our housekeeper is currently working on getting a working remote for each TV on the ward so I would hope this issue is rectified soon. We will label each remote for the correct TV. I will have all our clocks on the ward checked to ensure they are working and any that are broken will be removed and I will ask our housekeeper to order new ones. I apologise for this.

Your feedback on the food and menus will be shared with the catering team for consideration.

Thank you for posting regarding your recent experience on Trauma Ward. I am sorry you were disappointed with the variety of dishes on the menus. I will pass your comments to the Catering Team. Patient menus are reviewed regularly and feedback is taken into consideration as part of the review process.

Hello,

I wanted to update you that we have made a change regarding the lack of TV remotes.

Our housekeeper has rectified this issue and now each TV has its own remote. We have labelled each remote to the allocated TV and we are ordering a spare supply.
