"Urgent review in ED"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / General Surgery Dr Gray's Hospital / Emergency Medicine

(as a relative),

I had to take my mother into the hospital for an urgent review today. She had previously been rushed to hospital with an upper GI bleed and the team on shift that day were brilliant, but she unfortunately was blue lighted down the road to ARI for an ITU admission. Experiencing symptoms consistent with that previous event today we came to the hospital for an urgent review. My mother hates hospitals and is the poster child for white coat syndrome with her BP elevating at the mere thought of attending any medical facility. The staff immediately put her at ease and reassured her. Special thanks to Nicole staff Nurse and Emma HCA for putting my mum at ease. Thank you to Mr Bekheit and Andrew the middle grade doctor in Surgery for their professionalism during her time in ED. Thankfully we were given the all clear and were discharged home later that day.
