"Breast Cancer Diagnosis, Surgery and After Care"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Breast Services Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Dept of Scheduled Admissions Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Gynaecology Services

(as a relative),

I just want to say thank you to the wonderful breast cancer care team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, lead by Mr Mustafa.

My grandma was diagnosed in March 2023 and has just had a mastectomy on the left side at the end of July, with further surgery on her right hand side.

The care in which she has been dealt with and the comfort Mr Mustafa and his team have provided throughout, I simply cannot thank you enough.

I know this journey is not over however, knowing that my grandma will continue in the care of these wonderful individuals - it is certainly a comfort during a worrying time.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff in the breast cancer unit in the purple zone. To Kendall in the Department of Scheduled Admissions (DOSA) - thank you for your kindness throughout a difficult day prior to my grandmas surgery.

To nurse Gemma  on ward 309 - thank you for being so kind and caring to my grandma post-op, your gentle touch in an emotional time really helped her through.
