About: Antrim Area Hospital / Pre-Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

Come into hospital in March 2020 to have my gallbladder removed with key hole surgery.  There was complications and I had to go back into theatre to have the hole in my stomach repaired.

3 years on I have come back into hospital to have more surgery to have my hernia fixed  “fingers crossed”. I visited the pre assessment check and all the nurses were very caring and listened to what I had to say as I’m very uptight about my next surgery they made me at ease and I was very comfortable .

Hi all

unfortunately my surgery was cancelled due to me having a bad head cold, watch this space for the next step on my journey, all staff in day surgery were very helpful and caring, Jonny was very good at explaining the steps that I was going to go through before it was decided to cancel the surgery
