"My chronic itching"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Dermatology

(as a service user),

I’ve had an itch which is uncontrollable and as had a detrimental effect of my daily life.  I initially saw my GP eight years ago and was referred to  the dermatologist.  I having used all the creams, potions, lotions and light therapy -  nothing is working.  I haven’t had a skin biopsy or scan and now it’s possibly neuropathy, but my doctor says there’s no such thing as a neuropathy itch and has referred me back to dermatology.

No-one seems to know anything. I’m at my wits end.  I have this all over my body, constantly itchy, scratching, cold and heat reacting to my skin.  I can’t shower or bathe properly which makes me very anxious and upset.  I’d love to shower without an itch but I know what’s coming.  It affects my life daily -  please someone listen and help.
