"At no stage have I felt a burden or been rushed to discharge."

About: South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust / Hand Therapy and Plastics Team The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department The Ulster Hospital / Physiotherapy The Ulster Hospital / Plastics Dressing Clinic

(as the patient),

I had a serious chainsaw accident to my hand in January this year and was taken to the Ulster Hospital emergency department.  The next day I had an appointment with Plastic surgery and was then referred to an outpatient to Hand Therapy.  I have received excellent service from all three departments but in particular the outpatient care I received at Hand Therapy has been outstanding.  The regular physiotherapy I received has greatly aided my recovery and at no stage have I felt a burden or been rushed to discharge.  I continue to get physiotherapy and meet with members of the team who assess my ongoing recovery.  My hand is recovering very well and it is due to the excellent work of the staff in these departments.

Many thanks for taking the time to let us know your story. I'll pass on this feedback to the team - it really helps to hear positive feedback and keeps up our motivation.

I'm really glad things are improving for you - these serious injuries do take time to recover so well done for the hard work. It's not an easy experience.

So thanks again for the feedback - we greatly appreciate it and good luck in your recovery.

Hi Chainsaw

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experience when you attended ED. It is always good to hear how patients progress after leaving ED and good to hear your hand is recovering well.

Best Wishes for your ongoing recovery.

Kind Regards
