I had an operation to clean out infection and sort stoma. Ended up staying in for 2 weeks after the first operation went wrong and had to have a second one. At all times the nurses and auxiliaries were very helpful and understanding and helped keep me at ease when further procedures were needed.
I was then dealt a devastating blow when an unexpected death in the family happened in another area of hospital. At all times the staff were caring and understanding but the wait our family had to endure for the movement of the body we found disgraceful. We were continuously told a porter was on their way but they never appeared. In the end I asked for a porter to be booked to return me to day surgery and that one arrived BEFORE the one booked for my relative which did not help the parents at all. I will leave them to comment on their views at another time.
Returning to my stay. I must thank all the nurses who dealt with me. I am not great for remembering names so I include the following for special mention (but I know there are a few more that I cannot remember their names); Meghan, Linda, Niamh (student) Rebecca (student), Isobel. I can still see the others it’s just the names I cannot remember
"Helpful and understanding staff"
