I had been discharged from the hospital a few days ago and then unfortunately I had to be re admitted.
I called my GP - Dr Fraser at the Cowdenbeath medical practice - and she knew by speaking to me that I needed to see someone. I was having difficulty with my medication. I usually manage my medication well, but on this occasion I was really struggling and I was a little confused.
Dr Harper from the same medical practice came to see me in my home and recognised immediately that it would be best if I went to hospital.
The doctor very kindly offered to call me an ambulance, but as we have a car a family member brought me back into hospital.
I firstly went to AU1 in the Victoria Hospital where I was still slightly confused, however my medication was reviewed and I was soon feeling so much better.
I was then transferred back into ward 9, Rapid Assessment Discharge, where I was on my last visit to the hospital. I know some of the staff here and they really have shown kindness in all they do.
The medical team have arranged for my medication to be dispensed by the pharmacy in such a way that it will all be in order and easier for me to know what to take and when to take it. This will be so much easier for me as I am on quite a lot of medication.
I am so grateful for the care I have been given from my GP practice in Cowdenbeath, Admissions Unit 1 and Ward 9 Rapid Assessment Discharge Unit.
All nurses and doctors have been so kind and understanding. Just there when I needed them, I would like to thank everyone.
"Just there when I needed them"
