"His care was excellent"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Emergency department Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Trauma & Orthopaedics Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a parent/guardian),

I’m sharing some feedback on behalf of my adult son, his care was excellent, he had been over a few times, he had appointments with orthopaedic surgeons with a broken elbow, he has also had a bad fall yesterday and was admitted to the minors injury unit in A&E, the care he received there was excellent. We had to phone an emergency ambulance because he had lacerations to above his eyes, he had to have 3 stitches, the emergency ambulance took us there Altnagelvin Area Hospital. Their care was excellent too, from the paramedics in the emergency ambulance.

The surgeons and all the services we had to get has always been in the Altnagelvin Area hospital.

The staff and the doctors and consultants were really good.

Good afternoon eagletm95

Thank you for taking the time to share your valued feedback. We are always grateful to those who share their experiences of the services they have received. It was reassuring to learn of the care and assistance administered by the paramedics towards your son and equally for the travel to the emergency department at Altnagelvin. As an organisation we are committed to consistently show compassion, professionalism and respect for the patients we care for.

I wish your son the best with your recuperation.

Ruairi Cummings
