"Care in A&E after a fall"

About: Northwick Park Hospital / Accident and emergency Northwick Park Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a friend),

My elderly friend was brought into A&E in the early hours at the end of June,  after a fall in her Care Home.

During that day I was overwhelmed by the quality of care and clockwork organisation of the department - like a well oiled machine.

I am aware of the following staff who all played their parts with competence and efficiency:

A & E nurses and doctors, porters, radiographers, radiologist, occupational health , falls assessor, catering trolley driver, cleaners and a MaxFax surgeon.

These staff attended to her in a seamless stream as she was thoroughly assessed and her broken arm etc was diagnosed, set and plastered. Each person showed such care and treated her like the stalwart individual that she is.

Dear Faithful Friend,

Thank you for your feedback on our Accident and Emergency department. I am firstly sorry that your friend had a fall and needed to come in but it is reassuring to read that they were looked after from start to finish.

I am aware that you have mentioned specific staff members and departments and so have made sure to share it to the A&E team so they can cascade your kind words appropriately.

I do hope your friend is recovering well after their unfortunate fall.

Thank you again for leaving your feedback.

Best wishes,

Leanne Fernandes - Patient Experience and Engagement Lead
