"Ninewells hospital A&E"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a carer),

Our toddler had a fall at nursery, resulted in a double fracture to his arm. The response from A&E at Ninewells was fantastic. Smooth and seamless from arrival to triage to treatment with follow up arranged. The staff were friendly, caring, responsive, attentive, funny and overall an absolute credit to the service. The interactions with our 3 year old put him at the centre of the care, lovely engagement keeping him involved in all steps of his assessment and casting. Explained everything to him first making him the priority and he felt involved from the start, made him the star of the show and put him at ease. Fiona the ANP, Alana who was the health care assistant and Nicola the charge nurse showed great person centred care, made us parents feel at ease by the care provided. Communication skills were second to none, talking and containing parents while engaging a 3yr old on a Friday night are sometimes skills we take for granted. Fantastic people providing fantastic care.

Dear Stunr93

Thank -you very much for taking the time to feedback about you and your child's recent attendance to the Emergency Department. I was delighted to read about your positive experience which I will share with the wider Emergency Department Team. It is lovely to hear about the high level of care and communication.

I hope your toddler is recovering well and again thank-you for your post - it is very much appreciated and will give the team a real boost.

kind regards
