I attended Hairmyres A&E with a suspected broken ankle.
At the point of injury, my foot went suddenly numb, and then proceeded to become tingly. The NHS website said that this may indicate a serious issue and requires immediate attention. After waiting for 4 hours in A&E, I was eventually taken by the triage nurse who, without even looking at my foot, told me to come back tomorrow as they were too busy to see me tonight. After I pushed, the nurse did look at my ankle and ask some basic questions, but all in all, was very vague and said it was my choice whether to return tomorrow and try again. One thing I did notice while waiting was that several loud people seemed to take priority when they shouted, cried or demanded attention, which was disappointing.
