"There is a real sense of positivity"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency Victoria Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I had an injury and had to call for an ambulance. As soon as the ambulance crew arrived I felt they were entirely in control of the situation. They were very reassuring and kept explaining what was happening Their continuous chat was really appreciated as it offered a form of distraction.

I was taken to The Accident and Emergency Department in the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy where I found everything to be smooth, well organised  and there was really good communication from all medical staff. Everyone was very nice.

Later I was transferred to ward 33 The Orthopaedic Trauma Ward.

I was put on the theatre list and was prepared for this by the Doctor  and the surgeon. I am a very anxious person but found the nursing staff to be as good as gold.

For me everything just happened, everything fell into place and I recognised this was due to a lot of hard team work, work by the medical staff. The staff in ward 33 are all brilliant, they all have their duties and the team all fit in.

The food here is brilliant the choices are great, spoiled for choice really.

My experience in the Victoria Hospital has been brilliant. I would like to give recognition to all staff including the cleaners and the porters who do a great job too.

The Nurses are always dropping in to check on me The Physiotherapists have been great very very nice and encouraging.

There is a real sense of positivity in ward 33 it really is as good a it will get or as near perfect as it can be.
