I came to the Urology Department at RCHT for a LATP biopsy after having some high numbers on my PSA blood tests & an abnormal MRI.
As you can imagine I was somewhat apprehensive about this and what it could mean for me in the future. When I got to the department I was met by Marion, who greeted me in lovely friendly manner & started to get me booked in.
Clare (the clinical nurse specialist) who carried out the procedure explained everything clearly so I knew exactly what was going to happen & why.
Katherine (not sure if she spells it like this) talked to me through the procedure, reassuring me & keeping me from fretting about what was happening.
Sean (HCA?) just before we started showed me the instrument that was to be used & explained about the quite loud clicking noise when the samples were taken.
The whole team did their best to put me at my ease, reassure me & explain exactly what was going to happen, when & why.
It’s not the easiest of things to have to go through but the team led by Clare were brilliant, professional & caring. An absolute credit to RCHT & the NHS.
"Lovely staff, first rate care"
