One evening I was stung by a wasp and as I have had past allergic reactions to them, I always have an Epipen handy. On this occasion the Epipen wasn't enough and I started to have reactions - itching away from the sting site, swelling of my face, feeling sick and an unpleasant feeling of swelling in my ears.
Help came first in the form of a paramedic called Lance, who quite frankly epitomised professionalism - kind, caring, understanding and very efficient.
He was soon joined by an ambulance crew of Dree and Steve, who were just as kind, caring, understanding and efficient.
Then at A & E (York District Hospital) where it was the same again.
I'm back home feeling humbled and grateful for the wonderful fellow human beings who helped me yesterday.
