About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Vascular surgery

I saw the consultant at Medway Maritime, but as I live and work in East Kent I asked for the follow-up with Orthotics to be at Kent and Canterbury.  The consultant works for East Kent but was doing extra clinics at Medway to deal with the backlog.  He said that should be fine, but to ring his secretary to arrange this.

I rang his secretary who was super helpful.  She found me on the system and said it shouldn't be a problem.  

Unfortunately as the consultant used Medway's referral form, I was sent an appointment for Medway Orthotics.  I phoned them and they said they couldn't change it, the consultant would need to change the referral.

I rang his secretary again.  She was once again super helpful and said she'd print out the details so he could refer me to Kent and Canterbury and she'd phone me once it was arranged.

I want to thank the consultant and his secretary.  They are both great and a wonderful representation of how the NHS should be - patient-focused, kind and responsive.
