About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

I had a urgent referral sent in by my GP.

Within 4 days of the referral being made I was offered an appointment within 3 weeks, (It would of been quicker but was unable to get time off work)

On the day of the appointment I was greeted by a lovely nurse. 

She explained the procedure to me and gave me continual reassurance when I expressed my concerns about being sick during the procedure.

This nurse stayed with me throughout the procedure, rubbed my back/arm and chatted to me to help reassure/distract me. Her kindness that day really helped.

The lady who carried out the procedure introduced herself, asked me what my symptoms were and asked me if her plan for the procedure was OK.

Recovery was quick and nursing staff were attentive throughout.

Thank you for taking time to feedback about you visit to the Regional Endoscopy Unit here at Queen Margaret. It must of been a relief to you to be allocated an appointment so promptly after your GP referral. I was delighted to read about the excellent care that was provided to you on your visit and how attentive the nurse was the greeted you and saw you through your journey.

The reassurance given by being well informed throughout your journey, the endoscopist discussing your symptoms and how we were going to treat it, asking if you were in agreeance, so you were making an informed choice. To the kind gesture during your procedure of staff holding your hand, rubbing your arm, and chatting thus giving you some comfort.

I am delight that your journey was such a positive one and will take great delight in passing on your kind words to the team. Wishing you a speedy recovery
