Attending the hospital for any procedure makes you feel vulnerable and lonely. I was most pleasantly surprised following my procedure to meet a nurse on night shift, Shannon.
To me, Shannon is a role model to her colleagues and a positive asset to the profession, the trust and the NMC.
Shannon introduced herself to every patient in the bay, took time to talk to everyone and get to know them on an individual bases.
Her compassion, kindness and experience shone through, especially, in relation to reading patients signs for pain and managing appropriately!
Shannon is attentive, professional and it is evident she enjoys her work!
