I had carpal tunnel surgery in the day surgery unit at Wimborne hospital. Having spent most of my career dealing with clinical trial patients in the NHS I feel I can provide an objective review.
From the free parking outside the door to the relaxed greeting my experience was very good. The department was clean, with modern equipment. All staff introduced themselves and were friendly, competent, caring and respectful. My identity, and the procedure to be performed were checked thoroughly, and
the process and possible side effects explained fully with ample opportunity for me to ask questions. The staff worked as a team with good rapport which helped to engender a quiet and calm environment, in stark contrast to bustling larger hospitals, which can be frantic.
Despite this being my second carpal tunnel surgery I was quite nervous, but I found the care, kindness and the reassurance from the staff helped me relax, and the procedure was quick and painless.
In summary, I found that I received excellent service from the hand clinic, from my initial consultation, making an appointment, reception at the hospital though to the procedure itself. I would have liked to have mentioned staff by name but I appreciate that this is not allowed in this review process.
I hope that you could convey my gratitude to the staff for the excellent work they do, especially in the face of these difficult times.
"Excellent Service"
