"Welcomed and supported"

About: One Recovery Bucks / Aylesbury

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

- 2019 I entered recovery as an addict (opioids)

- This was with a service in Oxfordshire.

- I was addicted to codeine and was treated at a lower level.

- I started on 25mg/ml of methadone

- This soon dropped to 6mg/4mg etc of buprenorphine

-  I felt rushed to reduce quickly to 'get my life back'

- I also felt external pressure from home to 'be well' and free of addiction

- I went on to lapse and relapse in Dec 2019 + Feb 2020. I was taking 0.8mg of Buprenorphine at the time.

- Since 2020 I have been clean for 3 years and well supported in a much slower reduction as I felt in control

- I have joined One Recovery this week (June 2023) and I have felt very welcome and supported in achieving my goals to be off buprenorphine by end 2023

Hello and thank you for taking the time to give us this feedback.

It sounds like you have had a long Journey and we are very happy that you now feel in Controle of your reduction. Good luck with the rest of your reduction.

Ronnie
