Like many in our eighties, we were unaware the long-term effects of 'baking, in the sun' had when we were in our 20s and 30s. Now, we reap the consequences, in my case through a succession of BCCs (Basal Cell Carninomas). Treatment, invariably, has been first class at Stirling Community Hospital.
Yesterday was no exception. David and Vicki excised a BCC in the centre of my back. Firstly, David explained the procedure in clear and precise terms. Vicki made sure that I was positioned correctly and comfortably on the bed. A local anaesthetic was applied. David carried out the surgery while Vicki both assisted and engaged me in conversation. They worked well as a team. Within 30 minutes, job done and this patient left the Unit reflecting on the professionalism of the staff and their excellent patient care, Thank you Dermatology!
"Excellent patient care"
