"Excellent care in the Emergency Department"

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I had a fall on way to work  and fractured my humerus. ED was clearly very busy, full at 08:30 hours with patients in beds in ED.  A member of staff had just gone off unexpectedly. Despite this, I couldn't have been better cared for. Senior Charge Nurse Anderson got my pain relief sorted in a flash and off I want to x-ray. Dr Currie sorted out my collar and cuff - with Entonox, I was so grateful- and gave me a thorough explanation of the type of fracture, the treatment and what to expect.I think he covered absolutely everything.

I am so grateful for my BGH care - now on Day 5, it can only get better.

Hello Appreciative Customer,

Sorry to hear of your accident and I hope you're recovering well. Thank you very much for your positive feedback on your experience when attending the Emergency Department. We strive to give our patients the best care possible and it sounds like we did just that. I will pass your kind words over to SCN Anderson and Dr Currie.

We wish you a speedy recovery

Alan
