"Poor experience at GP practice"

The worst practice I have ever encountered. I honestly find it shocking this practice exists as I have found the standards and service to be awful.

A few issues I had:

-My GP knows I suffer with severe anxiety and has prescribed me medication for the issue I have been having at the time knowing the side effects of medication - it causes extreme long lasting side effects - severe unbearable anxiety and panic attacks - so image this - I’m dealing with severe anxiety and after taking medication it made it even worse to the point I had panic attacks every single day.  When I said this I was just prescribed more stronger medication as if I don’t take enough already. It just makes no sense - how can you prescribe medication that causes severe anxiety to a patient that suffers with depression and anxiety already? It seems like they just wants to fill patients with tablets and send them on a merry way.  No actual sympathy or assistance in actually getting you better.

When I said I wanted to get to the bottom of the issue rather than keep on taking tablets for every single symptom I am experiencing they responded in what I found a condescending attitude saying they know what’s best as they are professionally trained.   My question is how can you treat someone when all you do is prescribe medication for every symptom? That’s not helping someone and that’s not getting to the bottom of the issue - that’s just disguising symptoms whilst the root issue of the illness is left undiscovered. So after 6/8 month taking all the medication and advice from I’m not actually getting any better -  more side effects resurface - and if I didn’t decide look elsewhere I would have been still suffering.

Another huge issue was when I tried to complain to a manager at the practice, I found it an appalling experience, very unprofessional attitude. When I attempted to explain my issues they continuously spoke over me and interrupted me - I honestly don’t understand how people like that work in positions that they do.  They showed no sympathy for my situation whatsoever and pretended that the practice is absolutely perfect even though in my experience the staff are poor, it is dirty and the service is appalling… they think that no changes are needed at the practice!  I  tried to contact another manager and have  been told they will call me but they never do - which I think just shows that they really don’t care if you having a terrible service - nobody wants to know or hear me out. Their attitude seems to be that you get what you get and if you don’t like it go elsewhere.
