"My care by the staff was superb,"

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency Borders General Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (Ward 9)

(as the patient),

I was found unconscious after missing a few days. The emergency services had to break into the house after I was spotted by a concerned neighbour.

I was rushed to the Borders General Hospital and placed in the intensive care unit before being transferred to a ward.

After spending approx 5-6 weeks I was sent to stay with some friends and finally home.

My care in hospital by the staff was superb, the food was brilliant and the support I have received at home has been second to none.

In my view, the NHS all deserve a gold medal.

Dear OrionKT79. Thankyou so much for taking the time to use Care Opinion. It sounds as if you have been through a very difficult and traumatic time. I hope you are well on the way to recovery. Our Emergency Dept is under significant pressure but we continually strive to provide the best care we can and in life threating situations, as yours sounds, we will always give priority and high levels of care and work closely with our colleagues in Intensive Care and the wards to ensure we provide the best care possible. I will pass on your kind words to our staff and once again, I hope you are making a speedy recovery.

Best Wishes

Lesley Anderson, Senior Charge Nurse, Emergency Dept.
