"Already missing coming to the classes"

About: Specialist Therapy Services / Rushcliffe Respiratory Services

(as the patient),

As from age of 50. Started to go on a downhill slope. Feeling very low. And pressures of work performance and still struggling to keep my job.

When visited my local surgery numerous times, it became obvious that I would go down the lines of taking lots of medication. And is as good as it gets.

I lost a close friend who died in sleep and this still torments me to this day. Arthritis is also a big issue with my health along with COPD and prostate issues. This has made me suffer affecting everyday life that I took for granted. I became slower and un enthusiastic to do anything due to all over pain, and have gained lots of weight which does not help.

I was accepted to go to pulmonary rehab. And was for the first time have felt listened to. Everybody involved were amazing, and for 2 visits of a week was the only time I felt in safe medical hands and nothing was too much bother. I was educated and realized that the COPD part of my issues was not as scary as it felt. The exercises were meticulously worked out around my arthritis and pain issues. And feel more confident to venture further.

I have been given exercises to carry out at home so as to keep up better strength and confidence which I was easily losing.

Already missing coming to the classes as everybody needs lovely caring people in there lives. Thanks for eveything.

Respiratory Physio, I support patients with managing breathlessness and clearing their chest. I also run the pulmonary rehab service.
