"Psychotic episode"

About: Home Treatment Teams / Downpatrick

(as the patient),

I had a psychotic episode shortly after starting sertraline tablets. I was very paranoid and anxious. I had insomnia and heart palpitations since starting the tablets. The initial treatment plan was to go home with home treatment but I then had a massive panic attack and then needed hospitalisation. I was in hospital for 5 weeks.

After I was discharged I was with HTT for over a month. I think I met most of the team over that time period. It was nice to see certain members of staff again that had met me during my episode, as they were able to see a change in my health. The HTT were all very friendly and supportive towards me and I am thankful for their care.
