(as a service user),

I had a planned procedure in April which I had been waiting for over 2 years. Despite knowing broadly what to expect, I still had some anxieties. 

The staff were all excellent from consultants secretaries, check in, surgical team, anaesthetic team and of course all the nursing staff. 
I felt safe, informed and cared for at all times. The pre assessment App Elsie also prepared me and kept me updated, kudos to the developers regarding the App. 

All in all, a positive experience despite a major operation. Special mention to the anaesthetic team as the nerve block was phenomenal & gave me a great night of comfortable sleep. 

In a world where pressures are high on our health team, it was clear the teams across 3 acute sites worked in harmony, now I just need to heal 😊

Thank you for sharing your feedback. You have waited some time for your procedure and I can totally understand that you would have anxieties. It is therefore good to hear that you felt safe and informed. It is also useful to know that you found the Elsie App to be useful. It certainly has been an excellent development.
