The Parkinson’s clinic here in Lurgan Hospital has provided an excellent service just brilliant! This is my first time coming here and the appointment was brilliant very informative and glad I came to it as it has been beneficial to us. The nurse Fiona was great at explaining all to us, she has really opened our eyes to what we should expect when dealing with Parkinson's. The staff from arrival were highly competent, professional, and friendly. Having Parkinson’s for quite some time now I understand how the disease is quite threatening, so to be reassured and helped throughout this appointment while offered support has been very positive.
One thing that we feel could improve would be the promotion of the service as we didn't know it existed and so close to us as well, it's great to have in our trust. We found out about it because we phoned Parkinson's UK to find out what support is available to us and they told us about this one, we then later phoned Lurgan Hospital and lucky enough we were able to take a cancellation appointment a few days later.
The advice and support we have been given today has just been great. Throughout the appointment we were put at ease and felt we could ask any questions. We could tell the nurse Fiona is great as she had a student nurse with her today in the appointment and seeing how she got her involved in the appointment showed us that she's a great teacher and knows what she is doing, the student nurse was so lovely as well talked away in the appointment which was great as it set a clam and open environment between us all. Overall amazing service needs more promotion Thanks!
