"Bar the bathrooms everything has been excellent"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Coronary Care

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The staff are all absolutely super on the Coronary Care Ward here at Daisy Hill Hospital – I could really find no faults with them. The staff always take the time to explain everything to you. The food has also been excellent – I couldn’t complain. I really have been very comfortable here on the ward and everything around me has been kept spotless by the domestic staff.

The only thing I could see that needs improving is the bathrooms. Firstly, there is no mirror available which makes shaving very difficult. Secondly there is nowhere to hang your clothes whilst in the shower, which means everything ends up getting soaking wet – this is not ideal. Other than this everything has been good.

Good Morning,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience from staying in Coronary Care.

We are delighted to hear that your experience has been a positive one. I am pleased to hear that staff have communicated very well with you throughout your admission - We strive to include our patients with their care and ensure they know what is happening every step of the way.

I understand how frustrating it can be with no mirror or place to hang your clothes in the bathrooms. However, this is for safety reasons to ensure that high risk patients are kept safe on the ward also. The ward has a number of handheld mirrors so if you need a mirror at all for shaving, please do not hesitate to ask the staff and they will supply you with one.

We are so privileged to have a job where we can care for people and make a difference.

I will ensure the team are all aware of your kind words - we really appreciate them.

Thank you again and Best Wishes, Patricia.
