"Not fit for purpose "

Referred by my GP months ago when I was worried I would end my life. It had taken a lot to confide in my GP but felt if I didn't I would take action. I felt like CBT was the right thing for me having had ir before. Had a lengthly call where I was dissuaded from having CBT and was only offered talking therapy and was given generic numbers regarding suicide prevention and then waited for months and months. Received a call or email or text at some point asking me if I was still wanting a service or whether I felt I didn't need it anymore. The way it was worded was geared more towards declining a service. I opted to still wait to see someone. Received a text months later to say an appointment had been booked for me at an unsuitable time. There was no discussion with me or option to amend this. I found this very insensitive bordering on cold. I know people working in this profession do care and do have a long waiting list with limited resources but for me and other people it has been pointless. Since referral I have been very vulnerable and was very very close to ending my life several times. Very upsetting. Very poorly managed service that is not fit for purpose.
