"Unbelievable from entry to exit, I had a great day"

I would like to take up some of your time and let you know about my visit on mid April 2023 for an angiogram.

To say that I was nervous and apprehensive would be totally understated.

I previously had Stents fitted over 14 years ago in the London Heart Hospital that was following on from my Heart attack and I was referred there by Dr Banerjee while I was in ESH

The procedure was carried out entering through my groin and I had 2 separate visits there and another in the Kings College a few months later to place Stents in my right subclavian

Entries all through the groin created problems with my walking and lasted for a considerable period of time without mentioning the pain and discomfort.

With those memories in mind I was apprehensive and stressed out just incase they would have to go through the groin again.

So that's the background...

What happened when I attended was first class...

From the minute I arrived bearing in mind the above I was still very much stressed out plus the road works at the traffic lights and the delay didn't help

On entry I was greeted with smiling and polite staff which helped to ease my worries

All the staff were fantastic and really efficent just like a well oiled machine

I was preped and ready to go to the ops room in a very short period of time.

Once ready I had a visit from Dr Turner

Dr Turner was absolutely great in explaining the procedures which helped me to further relax

On entering the operating theatre I was immediately put at ease by everyone explaining what they were going to be doing

The fast efficent professional way that everyone worked was scary and yet very reassuring

All staff were so polite and friendly while introducing themselves .

When Dr Iqbal entered I could sense the respect in which he was held by the members of the team.

He with me was nothing short of fantastic from his introduction right through to the explanation of the procedure that was going to be carried out

Throughout the procedure he talked to me and explained everything that was happening

It was absolutely reassuring for me the stressed out patient

My after care was second to none from all of the team present in the ward

Coffee sandwiches water and explanations all helped me to cope with how I felt inside.

Dr Iqbal came to see how I was feeling and Dr Turner returned for a chat about what had taken place and where it may lead in the future.

Having served in the military I know about discipline and professionalism also having been involved in the hospitality industry for many years I know all about customer service and care

You have a department to be so very proud of

My treatment throughout was amazing nothing could have been done to improve on it.

And lastly but not least to the team in the ward who without fear of contradicon were fantastic throughout the day..
