"They never seem to know what each other are doing"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I had a relative admitted to this ward a couple of months ago and found the level of care they received to be abysmal. Real experience is sadly lacking with the staff we encountered in 2b, and they have so much paperwork to do they really don’t have time to spend with patients who are just left to languish on their beds. Even if they call out for help or press their buzzers it takes far too long for anyone to respond and some poor souls are in pain.

They never seem to know what each other are doing, you might ask for something to be done for a loved one and come in the next day to find someone else on duty who doesn’t know anything about your request, I could go on and on about the level of care in this ward but the whole thing has just sickened me.

If what I saw of ward 2B is a picture of the care in the rest of the hospital then Heaven help us.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I was really sorry to hear of your relative's poor experience in Ward 2B, please be assured that this is not the person-centred approach to patient care that we aim for.

We would welcome the opportunity to investigate your concerns in more detail and, if that would be helpful, please feel free to contact me, either by phone on 01563 826210 or by email, linda.russell7@aapct.scot.nhs.uk.

With best wishes,

Linda
