"Dignity and Respect +++"

About: Dorset County Hospital

Anything else?

I visited the Diagnostic Imaging Service at DCH for a female pelvic ultrasound examination on 25 July 2013. I waited only 4 weeks from my GP referral to the appointment date. My appointment took place at the scheduled time with no wait. This was helpful after needing to drink a litre of water beforehand. Throughout the procedure which was in part highly intimate I was treated with the utmost respect and dignity by the staff in attendance. I was also assured that during the actual procedure the door to the examination room was locked, preventing anyone wandering in inapropriately. I valued this consideration to my privacy. Throughout the procedure the staff explained to me me exactly what was happening and checked regularly my comfort and consent to continue.

Thank you for your taking the time to post your comments. I am glad that you have had such a good experience of care and especially that you were treated with respect and dignity in a timely way. I will pass your comments onto the Diagnostic Imaging Service . Sarah Silverton Patient & Public Experience Lead, Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
