Last week I was a patient at Queen Margaret hospital in Dunfermline for a fairly routine examination ( colonoscopy). I say routine, not so for me but for the staff, nurses and Doctor who seen me through this experience with flying colours. From the referral by my GP, Dr Killough at Bellyomen surgery through to the appointment scheduling and completion of the examination, it took less than a month; an excellent service from a very under pressure NHS who, in my opinion, seem to work wonders within the stretched resources and what seems continual negative press around waiting / hospital times we seem to hear all the time via the media. I really have nothing but praise for the way I get treated within the NHS and would like to extend my gratitude to Dr Killough, Dr Pollock, who carried out the procedure and to ALL the staff at Queen Margaret Hospital who eased me through the process from registration through to recovery. Thank you very much.
It should also be said that the documentation / leaflet that accompanied the letter confirming my appointment detail was both informative and excellent in describing what to expect. A clear, concise and thorough explanation of what to do in preparation for the procedure, what to expect going through the examination and also thereafter having had the examination. Well done.
I don’t know many people that look forward to entering hospital for any reason but the staff certainly helped to put me at ease and help me through what was a nervous experience for me.
Thank once again to all involved.
