"Poor appointment policy"

About: Loddon Vale Practice

My Wife was told by a midwife that she must see her GP due to suspected mastitis. Wife calls the surgery to be told that she has to call at 8am the next day and that she must be bang on 8am as it is very important for her to get an appointment or she could become very unwell.

So, the receptionist admitted it she needed to be seen but refused to book an appointment for the next day and essentially said tough luck if you don't manage to get one. What an absurd policy, even more so when referred by another NHS medical professional.

Looks like it could turn into what would be a totally avoidable A&E visit. What an absolute farce.

Thank you for your review Julian, apologies for the delay in replying,I have just been notification of the review. Could I please ask you to contact the practice and arrange to speak to the practice manager, as this is not our procedure in dealing with this type of situation.
