"Long wait for follow up appointment"

I saw the consultant in January after me having to chase up biopsy results from an operation in November. The operation was unsuccessful and when I saw the consultant in January he told me that he would see me in 8 weeks time. However, we are almost at the end of March and still no appointment for the 8 week period that was agreed.

When I phoned up I was told that there is a back log of appointments and the earliest I would be seen was the beginning of May. When I spoke to the secretary I was told the consultant was away until the end of March and I would receive a call back to see if I would be seen in the emergency clinic. I phoned and spoke to a different secretary who said that I should never have been told 8 weeks  as they are not meeting that criteria but they were going to speak to the consultant and phone me back which yet again as I have previously experienced no call back.

It has now got to the stage that why should I bother about my health when I am repeatedly told one thing and NHS do the complete opposite. I have never had any problems with my care and treatment in Lothian but NHS fife I find disgusting; we are supposed to put our trust into NHS fife to help deal with our health.
