I have been been struggling with my anxiety disorder for years. At first, I was apprehensive about coming here as I have heard stories about the negative experiences that some people have had here. But I knew I really needed help, and decided that it was best that I go.
It was very nice how when I first arrived I was greeted by the team they were all friendly and helped me settle in. I tend to keep myself to myself so I haven't really had any bother with staff or other patients. Being honest, the hospital isn't as bad as what I thought it would be like, it's a lot more modern and feels more like a day center than a hospital.
The staff are all very good as I said, I haven't had a bother with any of them as I understand they are here to help me. Usually I go to the group therapy sessions, I do like them because I am in a group of people who are going through similar struggles, which makes it easier to share our feelings and experiences.
One thing that I don't really like is the strict routine, with set meal times and activities throughout the day. I find it difficult to adjust to the structure because at times I feel like a child being told what to do.
I am felt grateful for everything being provided to me and hope that I will make a full recovery soon.
