My mum was diagnosed with cancer in her kidney after attending a routine appointment. My mum was told in her appointment that a meeting would be held with a specialist team and she would be getting surgery to partially or fully remove her kidney within 2-4 weeks.
After 3 weeks we heard nothing. Then last week we received a leaflet through the door outlining her partial kidney removal surgery. No letter to explain. No follow-up from her diagnosis appointment.
I have called Urology 2 times over the past week and half to be told someone will call me back to explain what is happening, and I still haven't had a call. I don't think this is acceptable. To be told you have cancer unexpectedly, then to have to deal with the level of service my mum has received is shocking!
