I attended Queen Margaret Hospital at the end of March 2023 for a hysteroscopy and biopsy. From arrival the staff were lovely. I was met by Staff Nurse Richard, admitted by Lindsay who I had a great old blether with, further looked after in the unit by Staff Nurse Dawn and a couple other staff members including a student nurse, sorry I didn't get all the names. I met Michaela the lovely anaesthetist who was very thorough, locum consultant David who was able to find someone to help him when I asked about getting something extra done that he wasn't trained for, and Scott and Colin (I hope I got your name right.....it said practice educator on your cap) in the anaesthetic room.
Everyone made me feel so at ease and we were having a good chat prior to me going off to sleep. The procedure was very quick and I've had nothing more than crampy pain which I expected. Being a nurse, it was strange swapping roles for the day, it was lovely to see everyone was just as I would be if I was their nurse.
You were a wonderful team and I thank you for your care, though I didn't stick around beyond 2 hours I just wanted to come home. The day surgery unit is immaculate, very clean and tidy and attention to detail is noted everywhere I looked.
It is nice seeing people take pride in their place of work.
Once again thank you all 🙂
