"It made me anxious"

About: East Ayrshire Community Hospital / General Medicine

(as a service user),

I attended East Ayrshire Hospital, Cummnock in January for treatment. The nurse phoned through to arrange another appointment for me. When I went to collect it, the receptionist referred to me as "the lady"  I had no idea what they was referring to. As I lifted the letter, they referred to me again as "a lady" in what I found a sarcastic manner.

There were 3 other people all having a chat and I left feeling humiliated as they all started laughing. It made me very anxious about going to my next appointment.

Dear omegaeq59

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us via Care Opinion. I was really sorry to hear that your experience of our service has been such a poor one and has caused you anxiety. Please be assured that this is not the standard of care that we aim for.

I have passed your feedback to the Team at East Ayrshire Hospital and have asked them to reflect and learn from your experience.

Thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
