"A bit chilly"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Respiratory Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I suffer with COPD and arrived into Respiratory in Daisy Hill Hospital last week with a chest infection. I have nothing negative to say about my care or the nursing staff, everyone has been great.

If I was to give negative feedback about anything it would have to be that I have found this ward extremely cold, I was so cold yesterday I had to request some extra blankets, this was not a problem for the staff they where happy to oblige.  Another thing I noticed was meal/tea times are not co-ordinated very well tea arrives and thirty minutes later dinner will arrive and the tea has gone cold.  Maybe serve dinner and 30 minutes later serve tea.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of Respiratory Ward. We are sorry to hear that the ward was cold, I will contact the maintenance department to get the heat turned up. We value your feedback that you have found the staff to be great. We will also endeavour to improve meal times so that the food/tea does not go cold.

Best wishes

Judith
