I had a heart bypass back in June, and since it I have been in and out of hospital a few times between Daisy Hill and Craigavon area hospital.
I have been back in CCU in daisy hill since last Friday. The staff on the ward are very busy but my goodness, they are brilliant at what they do. They are more than helpful. They go beyond their job and more. The doctors call in and check on me quite regularly. The consultants are very good, however I have to say the doctors are the ones who explain everything more thoroughly to me. A lovely doctor called Nicola is fantastic. She really helps me understand everything.
The ward is very busy. There is a lot of movement during the night with new hospital admissions. It can be very disruptive for a light sleeper like me. I know it’s to be expected on a busy ward like coronary care and it’s not anyone’s fault though. The ward itself is very clean. They are always in cleaning and changing bed linen. They are very on the ball with the cleanliness and hygiene. I couldn’t fault anyone and I definitely couldn’t pick one member of staff being better than another. They are all amazing. I was needing a lot of support when I first arrived, and the staff were very dignified manner and made me feel a lot more comfortable.
I am very happy with my care in DHH.
